As the team’s only UX Designer, I formed our design process and used it to lead the Item Builder through its first major redesign. This laid the foundation for future designs at Checkfront that would elevate the product to an enterprise level.
Demetre’s commitment to his work has always been outstanding - he rose to every challenge he encountered and led the way in user-centric design. Hi! Thanks for stopping by. I'm an end-to-end designer who loves solving challenging problems. Curious by nature, I love connecting with and understanding people. I get energized working with great co-workers on in-depth designs, research, and brainstorming solutions. Collaboration and teamwork are my strengths.
My most recent work was with Chit Chats where I designed for the main client platform and core shipping service. Leading the designs in this amazing, rapidly growing company environment taught me how to balance business goals and design constraints as I continuously advocated for the user.
As an alumni at University of Victoria, I studied computer science and visual arts. I'm always trying to grow and learn something new. In my free time, I love playing disc golf in the summer, board games in the winter, and adventuring year round.
I extensively use design research to deeply understand problems, user behaviour, customer pain points and business goals.
The design process can be chaotic, but through distilling research insights into actionable work, I create order.
I find ways to co-create with teammates. Work happens when we bring others into our process; so I spend time facilitating and listening.
Collaboration and communication come naturally to me. I help teams throughout the project’s lifecycle. I love this work, and I love working with teams.
I write and sketch to simplify complex ideas, articulate products and designs, tell stories, and make sense of my thoughts.
I use visualization to help me communicate research findings, and better understand complex relationships.
I've had the great experience of creating and facilitating workshops with various teams, helping them work effectively and collaboratively, through visual thinking and creative exercises.
